God is the source of our inalienable rights and liberties, not the civil government. Our Founding Fathers believed this and wrote it into the Declaration of Independence.

Our first allegiance must be to our great God and King, and to His Son, Jesus Christ.

The proof of allegiance is obedience, so we prove our allegiance to God by obeying His word, the Bible, and applying it in every area of life.

It is my hope that this article will stimulate and encourage you to bring God’s Word and laws to bear upon our local, state and federal governments.

As a Christian, your allegiance is first and foremost to the Lord Jesus Christ who is God’s sacrificial lamb, who paid for the penalties of our sins by his death on Calvary’s cross. Jesus Christ arose victorious from the grave and reigns sovereignly over all the nations and peoples. We must simply submit to His authority.

No matter what the world would have you believe, your allegiance belongs to Christ.

“The Lord Most High is to be feared. He is a great King over all the earth. He subdues people under us, and nations under our feet. Sing praises to the Lord, sing praises. Sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth. God reigns over the nations. God sits on His holy throne. He is highly exalted.” (Psalm 47:2-9) Thy Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and Thy dominion endures throughout all generations. (Psalm 145:13) The Lord has established His throne in Heaven, and His sovereignty rules over all.” (Psalm 103:19)

Please join me in this prayer for those who have pledged their allegiance to Christ.

“In the name of Jesus Christ, we prophesy, release, sow, plant and cultivate in the heart and spirit of those who have pledged their allegiance to Jesus Christ, among all the state legislators, statewide officials, all elected officials elected to public office and citizens in Texas, a desire to live out their pledged allegiance to the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world. Dear God, work in the lives of everyone of these individuals, so that they would bow their knees and confess with their tongues that Jesus Christ is Lord. In Christ’s name. Amen.”

“The Lord keeps all those who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.” (Psalm 145:20) “He thwarts the way of the wicked.” (Psalm 146:9)

Please join me in this prayer for those who have rejected Christ and for those who are disobeying His commands.

“In the name of Jesus Christ, we prophesy, release, sow, plant and cultivate the conviction of sin, of righteousness and judgment in those who are participating in and promoting wickedness in our society and in our civil government. This would include elected officials, lobbyists and citizens who promote the activity of the killing of unborn babies, of homosexual conduct, pornography, adultery, anarchy, violence, rebelliousness and other immoral behavior. May these individuals turn from their sins and place their confidence in Christ for redemption. May their lives be changed to serve you, O Lord. If they refuse to repent and to submit to your authority, then we pray that you would destroy their evil plans and thwart their ways, and tear down the work of their hands. May their evil designs come back on them. Give us victory over our foes as we advance the cross of Christ in the realm of civil government. In Christ’s name. Amen.

I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength, with all I am.

I will seek to honor His commands.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

I have heard how Christians long ago

Were brought before a tyrant’s throne.

They were told that he would spare their lives

If they would renounce the name of Christ,

But one by one they chose to die.

The Son of God they would not deny,

Like a great angelic choir sings,

I can almost hear their voices ring.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength, with all I am.

I will seek to honor His commands.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

Now the years have come, and the years have gone,

But the cause of Jesus still goes on.

Now our time has come to count the cost,

To reject this world, to embrace the cross.

And one by one let us live our lives

For the one who died to give us life,

Till the trumpet sounds on the final day

Let us proudly stand and boldly say.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength, with all I am.

I will seek to honor His commands.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

To the Lamb of God who bore my pain,

Who took my place, who wore my shame,

I will seek to honor His commands.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength, with all I am.

I will seek to honor His commands.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

May the words of the song, I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb, bear fruit in your lives.
