Knowledge Begins with the Fear of the Lord
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)
20 Wisdom shouts in the street,
She lifts her voice in the square;
21 At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
22 “How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded?
And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing
And fools hate knowledge?
23 “Turn to my reproof,
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
24 “Because I called and you refused,
I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;
25 And you neglected all my counsel
And did not want my reproof;
26 I will also laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your dread comes,
27 When your dread comes like a storm
And your calamity comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
28 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently but they will not find me,
29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord.
30 “They would not accept my counsel,
They spurned all my reproof.
31 “So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way
And be satiated with their own devices.
32 “For the waywardness of the naive will kill them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them.
33 “But he who listens to me shall live securely
And will be at ease from the dread of evil.”
The Fear of the Lord is the starting point for understanding life. If we acknowledge that God is the Sovereign ruler of the universe, then we have two choices, either we submit to His authority and obey His commands, or we rebel and violate His commands. The choices are simple.
“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. pride, arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverted mouth. These things I hate.” (Proverbs 8:13)
Obedience to God’s Law Word is proof that we fear God.
God promises great things for those who fear and obey Him. “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
The cultural war has come to a head. The wicked forces of injustice, tyranny and hatred of Biblical truth are on the attack, seeking to destroy the religious liberties and Biblical principles upon which our nation was founded. There is a full-blown attack and all the is good, right and holy. The war against Godly values is now being waged by the secular, atheistic, Marxist alt-left with its minions in mainstream media, the homosexual political movement and the Muslim movement.
Christians must rise up and advance the truth of God’s Word in every area of life. Biblical truth is diametrically opposed to the goals of the wicked alt-left. Good and evil are not two equivalent forces that can live in harmony. One side will ultimately dominate the other.
I believe that we can and must restore our nation to its Godly heritage. Do you? If so, then let’s get after the work at hand and rebuild the crumbling walls of our Christian civilization.
“Rise up O men of God. Be done with lesser things. Give heart and soul and mind and strength, to serve the King of Kings!”
