Straus has made it clear through his comments that he plans on defeating Gov. Abbott’s and Lt. Gov. Patrick’s conservative agenda in the Special Session. Straus blocked the vast majority of conservative legislation that was supported by Gov. Abbott and passed by the Texas Senate during the Regular Session.  Straus did not even give these conservative pieces of legislation a committee hearing in the House.

When Gov. Abbott called the Special Session, Straus had the gall to call the Special Session a “Pile of Manure.” Straus threw down the gauntlet to both Gov. Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Both Abbott and Patrick are strong, outspoken conservatives who were elected to their respective offices in 2014 by over 58% of Texas voters. Abbott and Patrick represent the mainstream view of Texans.

RINO Straus was quoted in The New Yorker Magazine. “We came very close this session to passing a sweepingly discriminatory policy. It would have sent a very negative message around the country.”

“The legislature is not obligated to act upon his (Gov. Abbott’s) agenda items within the thirty-day period. And the Governor would have the option to call as many thirty-day sessions as he would like. We’re under no obligation to pass anything.”

This is why the Republican state representatives “Oust Straus!”

Contact your Republican state representative on Monday and tell him or her to vote to “Oust Straus” as speaker and pass SB 3 the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” and the rest of Abbott’s and Patrick’s conservative agenda during this Special Session. This is Straus’ strategy for the Special Session. He only intends to pass the Sunset Bills which will continue to allow for funding of various state agencies. The Texas Senate has already passed the Sunset Bills and sent them to the House. Straus has refused to send them to committee. Instead, Straus had the House pass HB1, the House version of the Sunset Bill.  It has been sent to the Senate. Had Straus allowed the House to vote on the Senate Sunset Bills, then the Democrats would have left the Special Session, which would have caused the House not to have a quorum. This would prevent any conservative legislation from being voted upon would reflect badly upon Straus.

The Texas Senate has passed all 20 items of Gov. Abbott’s conservative agenda, including SB 3, The Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Restrooms!”, and the Property Tax Reform Bill. These 20 bills have been sent to the House, but of course, Straus has refused to send them to the appropriate committees for hearings.

Lt. Gov. Patrick has the House Sunset Bill, but will not pass it unless Straus takes up the conservative legislation that has been passed by the Senate.

This leaves the Special Session in a stalemate. With only 2 weeks left in the session, Straus will continue to slow play the bills already passed by the Senate, so that they never come up for a vote in the House.  As the Special Session draws to an end, Straus will bring up the Senate Sunset Bill and pass it, so that the state agencies are funded.  That will be “sine die,” it’s over, for the Special Session. Straus will have beaten Abbott and Patrick in Round 1.

When this occurs, Gov. Abbott will have to call another Special Session.  Abbott was elected with 58% of the vote. He has a mandate to ensure that conservative legislation is adopted.  If Abbott allows Straus to block conservative legislation, then Abbott will have demonstrated weakness by surrendering to Straus.  Politically, Abbott cannot let Straus rule the roost, so he will call another Special Session.

When this second Special Session is called, the grass root conservatives will be up in arms about Straus’ actions and will be demanding that the Republican state representatives remove him as Speaker, so that the conservative agenda of Gov. Abbott and Lt. Gov. Patrick can be adopted by the Texas House. The battle will greatly intensify during the second Special Session.

Straus’ Plan for the Second Special Session

There will be no Special Session. The Democrat state representatives do not support the conservative agenda of Abbott and Patrick. They have no reason to return for a second Special Session, so they will just not show up. Straus will have

This is why we must “Oust Straus!”

This was a slap in the face of Gov. Abbott by RINO Straus. The fact Straus initiated this a fight with Abbott and Patrick demonstrates Straus’ haughty pride. Straus has drawn a line in the sand. He has made it clear that he does not intend to pass any of the conservative legislation proposed by Gov. Abbott, and supported by Lt. Gov. Patrick, the Republican dominated Texas Senate and House. The only way that the conservative agenda will be passed in this Special Session is to remove Straus as Speaker and replace him with a stalwart, conservative Republican.

The overwhelming majority of Republican Primary voters, nearly 70%, want Straus removed as speaker and replaced by a conservative Republican.

RINO Straus is once again blocking the very same conservative bills in the Special Session that he killed during the Regular Session.

This is why we must “Oust Straus!”

Straus’ Strategy for the Special Session

If we want God to bless Texas and have a prosperous state, then we must follow His laws. This is not rocket science. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall mediate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” (Joshua 1:8)

You must keep the pressure on your state representative. Contact your Republican state representative on Monday and tell him or her to vote to “Oust Straus” as speaker and pass SB 3 the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” during this Special Session. You can click on this link to find out who your state representative is, http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/find-your-representative/.

The Texas legislature needs to pass SB 3, the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” during this Special Session. In order to accomplish this, the Republican state representative need to “Oust Straus” and replace him with a stalwart conservative Republican.
