Patrick Hammers Straus

Lt. Gov. Patrick was a guest on the Mark Davis Show on 660 AM Radio Houston. Patrick said that Straus is “a Republican who has a Democrat as his chief of staff, a Democrat consultant, and who gets elected by 55 Democrats.” That means that Straus is a RINO, a Republican in name only. Patrick further stated that “That’s how he stays in office.

The speaker has to keep his Democrat base of 55 House members happy otherwise he’s not speaker.”  Joe Straus is the current Speaker of the Texas House. Straus killed numerous pieces of conservative legislation passed by the Texas Senate during the recent Regular Session. This is the reason that Gov. Abbott had to call the Special Session.

Contact your Republican state representative on Monday and tell him or her to vote to “Oust Straus” as speaker and pass SB 3 the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!”, as well as the other conservative legislation that Gov. Abbott has introduced during this Special Session. You can click on this link to find out who your state representative is, http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/find-your-representative/.

The Texas Speaker is not elected in a statewide election. That is why Straus has a low name idea and is unknown among most voters. The Speaker of the Texas House is elected by a majority of the 150 members of the Texas House. There are 95 Republicans and 55 Democrats. It only takes 76 state representatives to elect the Speaker. Straus starts with 55 Democrats as his base of support. All Straus needs to do is pick up 21 RINO state representatives to keep his position. This is the way that he took over as Speaker in 2009 and defeated the then conservative Speaker, Tom Craddick. At that time there were 65 Democrats and Straus needed only 11 RINOs to unseat Craddick.

That is why you will need to work to elect state representative candidates who oppose Straus in the March 2018 Republican Primaries. With 95 Republican members of the Texas House, it is inconceivable that we do not have a stalwart conservative serving as Speaker.

The Speaker holds a very powerful position in the Texas Legislature. He determines who chairs the various House committees and who sits on those committees. Once Straus has the votes pledged to hold his seat, the rest of the Republicans fall into line because they know that if they don’t, then they will be placed on the “trash” committees and their bills will never see the light of day.

Furthermore, the Speaker can now raise millions of dollars from lobbyists, who want to pass their special interest legislation, which he can dole out to those who support him for Speaker and hold fundraisers for them in their districts.

Straus had the gall to call Gov. Greg Abbott’s Special Session a “Pile of Manure.” Straus threw down the gauntlet to both Gov. Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Both Abbott and Patrick are strong, outspoken conservatives who were elected to their respective offices in 2014 by over 58% of Texas voters. Abbott and Patrick represent the mainstream view of Texans.

Straus would be beaten like a drum if he were to run statewide in a Republican Primary. It was rumored, before Straus’ dismal performance during the recent regular legislative session, that he was considering a run against Lt. Gov. Patrick in the 2018 Republican Primary. Patrick would crush Straus like a grape if Straus were to challenge him.

Straus is way out of the mainstream of most Texans. Last Friday, Straus said in an interview with the San Antonio Express-News that “I know how to govern without being an extremist.” What in the world is he talking about?

Joe Straus is an extremist who sides with the Democrat minority in the Texas House, and blocked conservative legislation passed by Lt. Gov. Patrick and the Texas Senate during the recent Regular Session.

Straus sees no problem with men, who claim to be women, from entering women’s and girls’ bathrooms, showers and locker rooms. Straus blocked SB 6, the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” in the regular session and plans on blocking it again in the Special Session.

Straus obviously does not care about protecting the privacy and safety of women and girls. Straus would rather hob nob with his business lobbyist friends and accept their campaign money than protect women and girls. Over 80% of Texans do not want men allowed to enter women’s bathrooms. Yet Straus said “Texas is off track with proposals such as the Bathroom Bill.”  Straus is the extremist on this and other conservative issues.

Last Friday, the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee held a hearing on SB 3, the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” The committee passed SB 3, by an overwhelming 8-1 margin. This bill was introduced in the Texas Senate during the Special Session. It will easily pass the full Texas Senate next week. SB 3 now goes to the Texas House where Speaker Straus will kill it unless he is removed speaker.

Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, the author of SB 3, said it succinctly, “We must choose our daughters over dollars.” She is referencing the testimony of Jeff Mosely, President of the Texas Association of Businesses (TAB). Mosely spoke against the bill, saying that it would cause millions of dollars of lost revenue to Texas because businesses would boycott Texas. Come on Jeff, you know better. Families will flood to Texas when our state legislature protects women’s and girls’ privacy and safety and does not cave in to the homosexual political agenda. If there are businesses that care more about their profits than protecting women’s and girls’ privacy and safety, then I say pox on those businesses. Send them packing to California, where the perverse and deviant congregate.

“He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the righteous, both of them are an abomination to the Lord.” (Proverbs 17:15)

If we want God to bless Texas and have a prosperous state then we must follow His laws. This is not rocket science. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall mediate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” (Joshua 1:8)

The issue is really simple, we believe that there should be “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” Doesn’t this make common sense to you?

I am not going to tell you what a detrimental effect it would be to allow boys in public schools, who simply claim that they are girls, to be allowed to use the girls’ bathrooms, showers and locker rooms in our schools. You can let your common sense determine that for yourself.

Wouldn’t you agree that it is good policy to maintain separate men’s and women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms in order to protect women’s and girls’ privacy and safety?

A person’s gender is determined at conception. It is a biological and scientific fact of nature. No matter if a man thinks, believes or feels that he is a woman, he is not. He is no more a woman than if he thinks, believes or feels that he is a dog, even though he can bark and chase squirrels with the best of them. The truth matters.

This “transgender” philosophy is a perversion of the truth. Why in the world should we allow those individuals, who are sexually deviant in their thinking, to force their destructive values on the rest of us, to the detriment of women’s and girls’ privacy and safety? Thank God that there are men and women like Lt. Gov. Patrick and Sen. Kolkhorst, and all the Republicans in the Texas Senate, who have the courage of their convictions to say, “Enough is enough!” They finally told the Emperor that he had no clothes on.

Many of you have already taken a stand on this crucial issue of protecting our mothers’, wives’, daughters’ and granddaughters’ privacy and safety. You must keep the pressure on your state representative. You can click on this link to find out who your state representative is, http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/find-your-representative/. Give him or her a call today. Tell your representative to “Oust Straus,” and pass the Women’s Privacy Act and all the conservative legislation introduced by Gov. Abbott.

It tells you a lot about the decline in the moral fabric of our nation that we even have to pass this legislation to protect women’s and girls’ privacy and safety. The choice is straight forward and I wrote about it earlier in CRTX News, http://crtxnews.com/texas-legislators-two-choices-sb-6-no-men-womens-bathrooms-pee-lgbt/.

You are either for “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” or for “I Pee with the LGBT.” Be sure to watch the homosexuals’ TV spot, “I Pee with the LGBT,” which was paid for by the ACLU, http://crtxnews.com/texas-legislators-two-choices-sb-6-no-men-womens-bathrooms-pee-lgbt/which. You have to see it to believe it. You can’t make this stuff up.

The Texas legislature needs to pass SB 6, the Women’s Privacy Act, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!” during this Special Session. In order to accomplish this, the Republican state representative need to “Oust Straus” and replace him with a stalwart conservative Republican.
