Since common sense and basic biological reality clearly mean nothing anymore in this day and age of political correctness run amok, it should surprise no one that the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea will feature zero gender or sex restrictions.
The rule-making committee responsible for regulating the Olympics confirmed in a recent email to The Daily Caller that there will be no sex or gender testing required for athletes who intend to participate.
“With regard to Hyperandrogenism in female athletes, there were no regulations in place at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and there will be no regulations in place at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 as we are still awaiting the resolution of the Dutee Chand case,” the International Olympics Committee reportedly wrote.
Hyperandrogenism refers to a condition wherein a biological woman’s body contains an abnormal amount of male sex hormones such as testosterone.
Chand is an Indian national sprinting champion who competed in the Olympics last year despite suffering from hyperandrogenism after an even more powerful regulatory body was forced to revoke a rule that had previously barred women like her from participating.
According to The Globe and Mail, in 2015 Chand and a team of supporters argued in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport “that there is no medical evidence that having an elevated level of naturally occurring testosterone gives a female athlete an advantage.”
Moreover, the court gave the IAFF until July of 2017 to provide evidence disproving Chand’s arguments.
Interestingly, the IAFF provided exactly that on July 3 of this year, when it highlighted new research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine proving that women with hyperandrogenism enjoy a notable competitive advantage over female athletes with lower testosterone levels.
