… Speaker Nancy Pelosi in 2019,” Gingrich warned.
Prior to that, according to Breitbart, Gingrich said of Congress, “I personally believe that they ought to do as much as they can on health care right now. They shouldn’t spend the whole rest of this year on one issue.”
“They have also got to pass, I think, by Thanksgiving, and get signed into law by Thanksgiving, a very large tax cut,” the former speaker continued. “Retroactively designed back to January 1, to make sure we have enough economic growth in 2018 that Republicans can run as the party of prosperity, of jobs, of higher take-home pay, and of economic growth.”
“And I would say the highest focus ought to be on getting the tax bill through because if we don’t have economic growth next year, I think we’re in real danger of having speaker Nancy Pelosi in 2019,” Gingrich added. “If we do get enough economic growth; I think frankly we will probably get reelected.”

It should go without saying that seeing former speaker Nancy Pelosi once again wielding the gavel in the House would be a progressive nightmare redux for congressional Republicans, President Donald Trump and the tens of millions of voters who tasked them with fixing what ails the nation, some of which was inflicted under Pelosi’s watch.
If Democrats manage to regain control of Congress in the 2018 midterm elections, Trump and his supporters could very well kiss the “make American great again” agenda goodbye, as Pelosi isn’t exactly on board with said mission, instead seemingly stuck on the path of “make America like socialist Europe.”
That can’t be allowed to happen, which means Republicans in Congress need to focus on critical issues that are likely to gain enough consensus to be passed.
Should the GOP fail to do so, they will have nobody to blame but themselves for Democrats being back in charge.
