SB 1601 by Hughes on Prohibiting Municipal Libraries
that Host Sexual, Obscene Events from Receiving State Funds

My name is Dr. Steven Hotze from Houston, Texas, CEO of Conservative Republicans of Texas online newsletter.
Mr. Chairman and Committee Members, I am testifying in support of Senate Bill 1601 which prohibits obscene events at municipal libraries.
Senators, you have a responsibility before God to protect children from perverts and pedophiles who display performances that appeal to an obscene and indecent interest in sex, such as Drag Queen Story Hour.
A pervert is one who participates in obscene, debauched, decadent and depraved sexual practices. A pedophile is an adult who sexualizes children to satisfy his carnal lusts or who sexualizes children for a profit motive, such as a sex trafficker or a doctor who performs sex mutilation surgery on children. These all constitute child abuse and molestation.
You have heard it said that, “you cannot legislate morality.” However, the purpose of law is to establish a rule of conduct for citizens which is binding and enforced by governing authorities.
Morality is a system that defines the rules of right and wrong conduct. Morality defines what is considered good or evil. All law legislates morality, society’s code of conduct. That is the purpose of law.
English Common Law was based upon the Ten Commandments.
The Texas Penal Code, Subchapter B, Section 43.21 – 43.26, deals with obscenity. Any individual commits a second degree felony if he induces a child to engage in a sexual performance. A parent commits a second degree felony if he consents to the participation by the child in a sexual performance. This means any person involved in a Drag Queen Story Hour for children is committing a felonious criminal offense and should be prosecuted.
Isaiah 5:20-23 teaches, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter, who justify the wicked and take away the rights of those who do right.”
Jesus stated that, “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matthew 18:6)
Senators, you have a grave responsibility, before God, to protect the children from the perverted pedophiles. I am confident that you will faithfully discharge your duty.
