The Women’s Privacy Act, SB 6, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s #1 legislative priority, was overwhelmingly passed by the Texas Senate on March 14, by a vote of 21-10 and was received by the House on March 16. SB 6 continues to gather dust on “Czar” Joe Straus’ desk. It has not even been referred to a committee. This is a slap in the face of Lt. Gov. Patrick and the Texas Senate. Even a watered down version, House Bill 2899, has been blocked in the House State Affairs committee by “Lord” Byron Cook (RINO-Corsicana).
The Coppell Independent School District in North Texas has instituted a gender policy that allows boys in girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms without a public hearing on the policy or even informing parents. Unless the Texas House passes SB 6, then gender neutral policies will be adopted by many school districts across Texas.
Straus and his puppeteer, Rep. Byron Cook, don’t think that this is a problem. Give me a break! How long will Republican state legislators, who tell us when they run for office that they are “pro-family,” stand for this pathetic leadership? It is time that they demonstrate some courage of their proclaimed positions. If they do not, then we need men of God to stand up and oppose them in the March 2018 Republican Primary Election. Republicans have an overwhelming majority of 95 state representatives and the democrats have only 55. Shouldn’t we expect to have a staunch conservative to be the Speaker of the Texas House? Am I missing something here?
Don’t the Republican state representatives want to protect the privacy of women and girls? Since it does not matter to Straus and Cook, then shouldn’t they be removed from their positions? A motion to vacate the chair, which when passed would remove Straus from being Speaker, must be made. The only way that this will happen is if Governor Abbott makes it clear that unless SB 6 is voted upon by the Texas House, then he will call a Special Session to address this issue.
You should call Abbott at (512) 463-2000 and tell him that you want him to publicly support SB 6 and to call a Special Session if the House refuses to vote on this issue. 84% of Republican primary voters support SB 6, “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms.” Straus and Cook hate Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick because of his strong Christian and conservative positions. They are doing everything they can to block his conservative legislative agenda. They know that if Patrick’s agenda is successful that he will be re-elected Lt. Governor in 2018 and then become Governor when Abbott leaves office in 2022.
Vision American President John Graves said the following, “Speaker Straus has no more excuses. Every phony business report on a perceived economic fallout from protecting women’s privacy through legislation has proved to be false. No one has yet to show any negative impact from privacy reforms enacted in Houston. Moreover, 84% of Texans surveyed do not want biological males in women’s and girls’ bathrooms, showers or locker rooms.”
Coppell ISD is an example of why we need SB 6. It is the latest front in the battle we have been fighting against school boards who have succumbed to the socialist left and the homosexual political movement.
It is outrageous that Speaker Straus refuses to allow our duly elected officials to vote on this important piece of legislation, SB 6.
The eyes of the nation are on Texas. Joe Straus is embarrassing our state and acting like a dictator who refuses to allow a vote to occur, because he knows that he will lose. Like all dictators, he must be stopped!
