I love Paris in the springtime.
I love Paris in the fall.
I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles,
I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles.
– Cole Porter
They call people like me “climate skeptics.”
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I acknowledge climate change. Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge it is a fool. If climate didn’t change, we would have to change the definition of the word.
What does it mean?
- “the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period.”
- “the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years.”
By definition, climate changes – over time.
Climates have always changed throughout history. That’s not the issue that has prompted President Trump likely to withdraw this week from the United Nations Paris climate agreement. The issues involve these key questions:
- Is human activity causing catastrophic climate change?
- Is there any evidence human activity is substantially contributing to detrimental climate change?
- Should the world’s economic activity be reordered with the central goal of reducing man’s production of carbon dioxide, a natural gas essential for all life on the planet?
The unequivocal answer to all three of those questions is no.
The bigger question is why so many world leaders, cultural institutions, multinational corporations and governments have been eager to embrace a lie, to perpetrate a hoax, to propagate a global fraud.
The answer is simple. There are always powerful people in the world who want to retain and maximize their wealth and authority by lying, deceiving, prevaricating and misleading.
The “climate change” mantra has always been about promoting two things – global governance unaccountable to the people and the rule of law and redistribution of wealth on a massive international scale.
I know what some will say about my conclusions here – “conspiracy theory!”
Yet, the evidence is incontrovertible. Key leaders of this fraud have admitted as much in their own words.
Let me cite just one example. In 2010, Ottmar Edenhoffer, an official of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, told a German news outlet, “First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy.” (Emphasis added.)
Just so there is no mistake, or that there is any chance I am pulling this statement out of context, here’s more from Edenhoffer in his moment of candor: “Basically it’s a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization. The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War.”
In other words, the agenda was never about stopping the destruction of the planet. It was always about redistributing wealth. It’s always about redistributing wealth – in this case, with hysterical, nonsensical, irrational fear-mongering and groundless claims.
There’s one more key question that should be considered in the climate-change scheme: If there really were a crisis surrounding man-made, catastrophic climate change, would the plan adopted in Paris offer any positive remediation?
Again, the answer is no.
Paris represented a massive global wealth transfer that would result in widespread suffering throughout the world – like any gigantic, unsustainable international welfare program administered by unaccountable global elitists would.
It really comes down to this.
Whom do you trust more – nameless, faceless lying bureaucrats working at the behest of wealthy international socialists or your Creator God?
If you trust your Creator God more, is there any reason to believe He is concerned about how much CO2 you produce? Or, is He more concerned about how much sin we commit?
Rejoice! It’s springtime in Paris.
