Should We Oust Straus?

Joe Straus

Should Speaker Joe Straus be removed as speaker during the upcoming Special Session of the Texas Legislative Associates beginning July 18?

YES

Yes, Straus should be removed because he is a RINO who blocked conservative legislation during the recent Texas legislative session, which was supported by Gov. Abbott and passed by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in the Texas Senate. The reason that Gov. Abbott has called the Special Session is to pass the conservative bills that Straus blocked.

NO

No, Straus should be re-elected speaker during the upcoming special session because he will stand against the arch conservatives’ Gov. Abbott’s and Lt. Gov. Patrick’s unnecessary and radical conservative agenda, such as, property tax reduction, SB 6, the Women’s Privacy Act, known as “No Men in Women’s Bathrooms!”, school vouchers for special need children, prohibiting local and state government from funding the killing of unborn babies, prohibiting insurance companies from using policy holders’ premiums to fund the killing of the unborn, restricting local and state governments from withholding union dues from employees,¬†preventing voter fraud, restricting private property confiscation by local governments through “Eminent Domain,” among other ultra-right conservative legislation. Straus is the progressive leader that Texas needs.
