PLAINTIFFS’ ORIGINAL PETITION AND APPLICATION FOR TEMPORARY INJUNCTION AND PERMANENT INJUNCTION
Dear Fellow Patriots,
Greetings! It is time for Governor Greg Abbott to cut the chains that have locked the doors of Texas’ businesses.
Our economy was the envy of the world until the fake news media, government health bureaucrats and socialist Democrats created irrational fear and whipped up mass hysteria.
Put the corona virus in perspective. We have bigger health problems.
It pales in comparison to the annual flu which the CDC projects to infect 54 million Americans and kill 62,000, that’s 344 per day since October 1st.
2.8 million Americans die annually, that’s 7,671 deaths per day, from heart disease, cancer, lung infections, strokes, Alzheimer’s, alcohol abuse, diabetes, painkillers and opioids, suicides and traffic accidents, among other causes. Tens of millions more are plagued with these diseases.
800,000 babies are killed by abortion each year.
In violation of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, politicians have shut down businesses, churches, and public events.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
Already, over 23 million Americans have lost their jobs and applied for unemployment insurance. The St. Louis Federal Reserve President, James Bullard, has predicted that upwards of 47 million Americans will lose their jobs, giving us a 32 percent unemployment rate. This is worse than the Great Depression and will cause social upheaval. This unconstitutional lockdown will destroy the income of millions of families and destroy their lives.
Enough is enough.
On Thursday, April 16th, working with several other businessmen and church pastors who are serving as co-plaintiffs, I had my attorney, Jared Woodfill, file a lawsuit against Governor Greg Abbott.
This lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of Governor Abbott’s executive order which closed numerous businesses and infringed upon the rights of churches and individuals to enjoy their First Amendment rights.
Social distancing and lockdown will only prolong this disease. That is a shotgun approach.
We need to use a rifle approach by sequestering those with pre-existing conditions, the infirm and debilitated elderly.
The rest of us need to get back to work, back to school, and back to church.
